Maternity, Newborn Baby and Child Photography, Sydney | Lea Forbes bio picture
  • thank you for being here. my name is leanne... i am a lover of all things pretty, i adore beautiful light and capturing precious moments that seem to pass us by so quickly. i am a sydney based natural light portrait photographer who loves to photograph pregnant mummas, births, newborn babies and children.

here i will share with you some of my own life with my three loves and recent client sessions.

if you are interested in me photographing your loves, then please don't hesitate to contact me. i can't wait to meet you.

My loves

I recently had the awful experience of completely wiping my entire iphoto library. It happened so quickly and easily and before I knew it all of the precious photos of my own children were gone.

I am vigilant about backing up client images to external hardrives, but my iphoto library had been untouched for years and sadly not backed up.

After several teary frantic phone calls and text messages to friends who really ‘got’ why I was so devastated one of Chris’ mates who works with iMacs came around. He ran data recovery on my computer and retrieved the majority of my iphoto library over the next few days. Love you Brett!!!

I have slowly started to go through the images and here are a few favourites. Can’t believe I was so close to not having these. Back up your images everyone and even better print them! I am going to get albums made up for each of the kids with these happy snaps. Sure they weren’t taken on the ‘big’ camera, they won’t win any awards, but they are my children, our memories and in 20 years time I am sure my kids won’t care what f-stop was used or if they are in focus!

oh my goodness Leanne…my heart stopped a beat and then some. I lost all video of my first born’s 5 weeks of life and I understand how incredibly painful it is to lose such precious moments, especially of your own children when you capture so many for others. thank you for the reminder – I am so glad most of yours are recovered and these above are just priceless. What amazing gorgeous children you have and such milestones in your family!

Oh Nic!! How horrible to lose that video footage ): x

Hannah & Leon. Married.

Last weekend I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Hannah & Leon held at Akuna Bay in Sydney.

We were blessed with a such beautiful day. Their ceremony was really lovely, with all of Hannah & Leon’s siblings being involved through prayer, signing of the registry & playing music.

Hannah & Leon, thank you for a wonderful day. I loved sharing it with you.

Big thanks to my friend Jo for second shooting for me!

O.M.G! Love it. Can’t wait to see the rest :) thank you again :)

I’m just going to sneak on in here….

& pretend like it hasn’t been months since I last blogged.

Things have been hec-tic in my corner of the world & now that I am coming up for air I thought I’d share a very special session I did at the end of last year.

If you haven’t already heard the name Emma De Silva, I suggest you head over here. Emma & her 19 day old daughter Eloise were the victims of a horrific accident last year which left Emma fighting for her life. Whilst I had never met Emma, we share some mutual friends and the call went out to help raise money for the Emma De Silva Foundation. My gorgeous friend Ally & I decided to donate a photo shoot each to the charity auction to help this family.  We had such fun early one morning taking family photos & newborn portraits together.

Here are a few shots of the delicious baby Lachlan.
